There is a sure way to pass your midterms with no sweat and to end the semester with your desired grade!
Although the following method is simple it takes dedication throughout the whole semester and maintaining a good study routine. Granted there are courses that have more projects or assignments than other classes, however keeping up with assignments while studying for exams and midterms is simple when there is a structured plan in place.
Follow these steps to ensure you survive through the midterms with a strong GPA and confidence to pass the final exam.
1.Read the complete Syllabus and keep it for reference.
Planning out all assignments, exams, and readings will help you organize your time schedule blocks for reading and completing assignments. You can also read ahead so that you can better prepare yourself.
2. Always read assigned Chapters.
And when I say read, I mean pre-read, read and take notes, and review. You should be able to go over the complete chapter with an overall concept of the objectives and a clear understanding of the text. If there is something in the text you don’t understand, mark it and bring it to the professor who will more than likely be happy that you come with questions beforehand.
3. Review All Class Study Materials
If a professor has supporting study materials, it is more than likely that those study guides will be on any of the exams or midterm. Keeping track of the chapter readings with the study guide will also further understanding of materials.
4. Keep track of all assignments and past exams.
Although it is not guaranteed, a lot of times professors will use references to prior exams for midterm questions. Going over missed questions can also help with concepts that you may not have fully grasped in the assignments or text.
5. Highlight & Color Code
All my notebooks and textbooks are full of colorful writings and highlights to help me remember and reference important concepts. If I highlight it in the textbook, it will most likely be paraphrased in my own study notes. Something about words in color helps me with memory instead of just using black ink for all of my notes.
